Common requests

Frequently asked questions

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen tap Forgot your password? and enter your account's email address. You will receive a link to set a new one. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder before requesting it again.

The map does not show my location

CatFinder needs location permission to center the map where you are. Check your phone's settings and confirm CatFinder has the permission granted. If you just enabled it, close and reopen the app. You can also use the app without that permission — the map simply will not center on its own.

I cannot publish a report

The first photograph is required and each image must be under 5 MB. If the problem persists, check your connection: the report is sent at the moment you publish and needs internet. To prevent mass posting, each account can create up to 20 reports per hour.

I found a fake, offensive or duplicate report

Open it and use the report option inside it. Moderation reports are reviewed one by one. The same account cannot report the same post twice.

I want to change my email or username

Go to Profile › Edit Profile. There you can change your username, your bio, your photo and your email address, and also hide your email from other people.

Does CatFinder cost anything?

No. The app is free, shows no advertising and has no in-app purchases.

I found an injured cat or one in danger

CatFinder is a tool for alerting the community, not a rescue or veterinary emergency service. If the animal is at immediate risk, contact a veterinary clinic or a rescue organization in your area. Publishing the report with the correct health status helps rescuers see it sooner.

Report a problem or suggest something

If you found a bug or have an idea to improve the app, write to support@catfinderapp.com. Bug reports with screenshots are the most useful ones and get fixed fastest.
